We did the STP

Hello every body I'm back and I survived the STP. We left Seattle at 5:25 am Saturday morning. The riders were, Penny, Ray, Diane, Mike and Myself.
The ride was so much fun. Our first stop was the REI rest stop at the 25 mile mark. They had a band out there and loads of good food. The cliff bars were very tasty and filing, which we ALL found out later. Penny had some major problems with her bike. She had too flats and the air was slowly coming out her front tire. Then at mile 88 the unthinkable happened. One of our people CRASHED. I saw the whole thing. No it was not me, but PENNY. She hit hard. She landed on her right wrist. She was in a lot of pain. But being the trooper that she is aka "Hard Headed", she wanted to continue with the ride. She made it all the way to Kelso Washington. This is the 150 mile mark. Later we found out that she may have a small fracture in her wrist. Well any way the first 100 miles was great. We all stayed together and enjoyed the wonderful landscape and other riders. (There were 10,000 bikes on this ride) After leaving Centralia, it all went down hill. It turned into a nightmare. Everybody started getting tired and wanting this to come to a end. I was never so glad to see the words.... "You are now entering KELSO". Thank GOD. I though we would never get off those bikes. Now I could go on and on about what we did, who didn't continue and who lived in the bathroom all night long. But I won't. So just say we did complete the ride. Sunday it rained on us the whole way into Portland. Now everybody knows I won't go out and ride if it's raining out. So what happens on the last day of this ride. Rain....Rain and yes more rain. Just to make matters worse, the last 56 miles into Portland was all up hill........

Now if you ask me, I will tell you everything, but for now I have got to go. Wanted to put something on my Blog for all of you to see.

Take care everybody, remember to wear clean undies and hug a friend.
See ya on the road.
Tracy
