Ready For Derby

OK, Derby day is on Saturday. However, at Daymar College the Lady's are in full swing for the big event. Everybody was told to make, or wear a nice Derby hat. Here are the Lady's that did. From Left to Right starting on the top, we have "Office manager Ann Marie, next to her in the blue shirt is Director of Admissions, Shawn, next to her our register Paula, next to her in that stunning straw had and green shirt, Linda, in front of Linda is Alisha, oh they are both the Admissions team and last but not least our soon to be wed in her wonder lay on my head hat Keisha, she is the assistant to the Director of the school Al Clement". Who, by the way was mysteriously not wearing a hat. Wondering minds wants to know. Oh if you were wondering why I was not wearing a hat, well... somebody had to take the picture.
Have a GREAT DERBY DAY...

The CHOW WAGON

Robert and I have called this place every other name other then Chow Wagon. Robert was calling it the "Chuck Wagon" at his job, I was calling it "Wagon Wheel" at my job. But the real name is "CHOW WAGON", ooh, I wonder what we will see inside. Will you join us on our tour? Oh, don't be scared, we will protect you... then run like hell...

Out Door Concert

Here, the 2 lone spectators get ready for the big open air concert. Later they were joined by about four other people. But hey, the night is still young. Later they did get allot of people in there. All jumping up and down to rock music. I told Robert, I feel like I'm in HELL... I didn't know any of the songs they were singing. But the beer was flowing and the people were all drunk. Welcome to the beginning of Derby.

Food stands

This was very strange, allot of the food booths were under the over pass. Also, they wanted a lot for that food. No cash, you had to go buy tickets. So a soda would cost you lets say 4 tickets. 50 cents per ticket, that would be OH MY GOD.... 2 bucks for a soda!!! How about I give you one ticket and you let me just get a glass of water?

Sandy eat your heart out

When I saw this "Betty Boop", I thought of Sandy. Well Sandy don't you think she is cute? I think she would fit right in on all those Monday night dinner party's. BOO-boop-be-do.... :)

Oh, what is she doing??

This very nice lady at one of the food booths, made Robert a DEEP FRIED OREO COOKIE, then she went and made a DEEP FRIED TWINKIE. I ask her is every thing deep fried? YUP, just about everything, was her response. Later Robert and I did catch her making out with some guy with no teeth. Dear God In HEAVEN.

Robert eats "SOMETHING"

Robert went and got this THING. I was like, what in the hell is that? Robert said, I don't know, but it sure is good, want a bite? NO, was my answer. Something that is served in a ice cream cone, and has re fried beans and cheese, no I think I will pass..

Food

At the "Chow Wagon", Robert and I spotted "JOE'S CRAB SHACK". I started shouting "Oh, Robert lets go there for dinner." So Robert and I ran over there only to find that we were CAGED in like rats. The only way to get in was to walk out of the little chow wagon and then circle around, pay 2 dollars to park and then eat. I said forget it. Let's just stay and enjoy the festivities...

Water Falls

River Front Park had some very nice art pieces. We just loved this art work, it reminded us of a place in England we had went to. It was very cool.

Down Town Louisville

So, the sun was setting on this of all night, and Robert and I said, "Thank god that's over with". Next time we will order in. But over all we had a good time. Just walking around, looking at folks and thinking to our selves, "The Puyallup Fair had better food, and much better music."

Our trip to Churchill Downs

We had so much fun, check out the pictures below. Oh, Robert did win on one of the horse races. He won a whooping $5.40. Now we can go have dinner....

View of Churchill Downs

Robert and I at last made it to "Churchill Downs", the weather was lets just say HOT. We found parking in a wonderful person back yard for five bucks. He was saying SOMETHING to Robert and I, but neither one of us could understand him. I just kept asking Robert "What did he say?" Robert just keep saying "I don't know, I don't speak what every he's speaking." Oh, well we parked and went on our merry way. When we did get back to the car, he told us he was trying to see how long we would be gone, he did not want us to get blocked in. Boy were we luck. What a nice guy, now if we could only understand him...

Check out the new Rides

Before each race, they let you see the horses as they are paraded around the court yard. Now you can see which one is going to be the winner. I go by the cute little socks the horse ware. They are all hand made.

The race is OVER

The riders and the horse just kept on going. Nobody cared. They were too busy looking to see if they had a winning ticket. Robert and I did not have a winning ticket..

Jockey and Horse after the race

The Jockeys name is "Julien Leparoux". He last was seen in the Remake of the wizard of oz. He played a small person. Well he's small, in fact all the jockeys were very, very little.

THe Winning Horse

This horse is called Victory Blue. She won $50,000.00 BUCKS for the owner of this horse. But I think she will only get a feed bag and a nice brushing...

The Winner and his Groupies

Here number 4 holds his prize. A silver PLATE. WOW.. Where's the money man. Oh, the jockey is the guy holding the plate. I at first thought that kid in the Orange shirt was the jockey. They are about the same height and weight. Robert did correct me on my over sight...

Millionairs Palace

Next week when the Queen comes in, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND, she will be staying here to see the race. People I talked to at the track said it's not all that. You can't even see who wins from up there.
