Haunted Old Louisville

People that know me, know that I love story's about ghost. So I went in search of story's about Louisville. Doing the St. James Art show (Picture are on the blog) I had the opportunity to meet the author of this book "Phantoms of Old Louisville". He told me a lot about the neighbor hood called Old Louisville. He also gives Ghost Tours every Friday night at 7pm. So far Robert and I have not been able to go, they are always booked. But enjoy the rest of the blog, I have put together some of the sites of Old Louisville, I hope you all enjoy it.

1464 St. James Court

This house is in the Book for Haunted places in Old Louisville. The author of the book "Phantoms of Old Louisville " says the following about this Place:

"One endearing story from the neighborhood involves the lovely stone house at 1464 St. James Court. Said to be the second home built on the court, it has played host to more than a century's worth of families, hardship and sorrow. Although prior generations have moved on, it seems ghostly phenomena remain behind to remind current inhabitants about the phantoms of the past that still call Old Louisville home. In this case no specters have materialized out of thin air and then vanished; no cold spots have put a chill on the evening's festivities and no flickering lights have cast momentary doubt on the host's good intentions. In this case, all that remains is a SOUND, and a solitary one at that, that hints at a tragedy in the past, a tragedy that has left its audible mark on the present."

This is a section of the book that was written by "David Domin'e Phantoms of Old Louisville". To find out what that sound is... You need to buy his book. Or just ask me.

This is a sign Robert put on our mail box for Halloween. I was looking for a sign that said "Out of Candy", Robert would have none of that.

If you can't make out the sign, it says there is a no Trespassing law for this property. If caught a $5,000.00 dollar fine will be given to the person. Well I got caught at the gate. But was able to talk my self out of it. Told them I was from out of town and just had to get a picture of the place. Did not know about tours... Boy I'm good....

St. James Art Show

Every 2nd week of October, Old Louisville puts on a HUGE Art show. It is called the St. James Art Show. It stretches like nine city blocks. Thousands of people come to the show. It was like 95 degrees outside. We had a blast. See the pictures below to get a small idea of what we saw. Enjoy.

So Cool

This was a piece that had lots of people looking at. Robert feel in love with it. It is wire sculpture. This guy would carve out the figures in wax, then he would rap cooper wire around the whole thing, then melt the wax. Then BAM. He had art, and he wanted a lot for it. 2 or 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS for one. I could see Roberts mind at work on where he would put it. He wanted it in the hall in front of the big window. I just pulled him away claiming I felt faint with the heat. Reality, I felt my pocket book getting light......
